John 2:5-11

1 On the third day a wedding took place at Cana in Galilee. Jesus’ mother was there, 2 and Jesus and his disciples had also been invited to the wedding. 3 When the wine was gone, Jesus’ mother said to him, “They have no more wine.” 4 “Woman, why do you involve me?” Jesus replied. “My hour has not yet come.” 5 His mother said to the servants, “Do whatever he tells you.” 6 Nearby stood six stone water jars, the kind used by the Jews for ceremonial washing, each holding from twenty to thirty gallons. 7 Jesus said to the servants, “Fill the jars with water”; so they filled them to the brim. 8 Then he told them, “Now draw some out and take it to the master of the banquet.” They did so, 9 and the master of the banquet tasted the water that had been turned into wine. He did not realize where it had come from, though the servants who had drawn the water knew. Then he called the bridegroom aside 10 and said, “Everyone brings out the choice wine first and then the cheaper wine after the guests have had too much to drink; but you have saved the best till now.” 11 What Jesus did here in Cana of Galilee was the first of the signs through which he revealed his glory; and his disciples believed in him.

Title: Obedience The Key To Receiving The Best                

As we begin the new working week, let us begin in prayer 🙏. John 2 verses 5 and 10

5, "his mother said to the servants, "whatever He says to you, Do it."

At the wedding feast in Cana, Mary, the mother of Jesus Christ, encouraged His disciples to obey and do whatever Jesus asked them to do. The disciples did not argue. They obeyed Jesus' instructions completely. The key to receiving the best gifts from the Lord is our total obedience to His commands and absolute Faith in Him. Believe Him today and this week for answers to your prayers and needs according to His perfect will. 

When the wine at the wedding feast in Cana ran out, Jesus miraculously turned water to wine and the master of the feast tasted it, he exclaimed in surprise to the groom that he kept the best wine for the last breaking the normal protocol (see verses 9-10). We get the very best in life when we turn our lives to Master Jesus.

In John 2:11b John wrote, "and His disciples believed in Him."  In other words, they had faith in Jesus. They trusted Him.

Obedience, Faith, and the willingness to believe in the Lord Jesus completely is the key to getting the best gifts from our Savior.  It is the key to our living and having Meaningful Life.

1. Today, ask the Lord for Grace to Obey Him completely in everything you do.
2. Ask for 100% Faith in Him, as you make your personal request to Him and please pray for Hope Church too.
