Mark 11:1-10

11 As they approached Jerusalem and came to Bethphage and Bethany at the Mount of Olives, Jesus sent two of his disciples, 2 saying to them, “Go to the village ahead of you, and just as you enter it, you will find a colt tied there, which no one has ever ridden. Untie it and bring it here. 3 If anyone asks you, ‘Why are you doing this?’ say, ‘The Lord needs it and will send it back here shortly.’” 4 They went and found a colt outside in the street, tied at a doorway. As they untied it, 5 some people standing there asked, “What are you doing, untying that colt?” 6 They answered as Jesus had told them to, and the people let them go. 7 When they brought the colt to Jesus and threw their cloaks over it, he sat on it. 8 Many people spread their cloaks on the road, while others spread branches they had cut in the fields. 9 Those who went ahead and those who followed shouted, “Hosanna![a]” “Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord!”[ 10 “Blessed is the coming kingdom of our father David!” “Hosanna in the highest heaven!”

”Jesus Triumphal Entry into Jerusalem Brings Excitement & Hope”

Take Home Point: Rejoice In Christ Your King.

Jesus triumphal entry into Jerusalem brought renewed hope to the Jewish people who had been waiting and expecting over the years for the King whom God had foretold. They were expecting the King to lead them to victory over their oppressors and enemies. A lot of them saw in Jesus that earthly king of their dreams and expectations. They failed to realize that Jesus did not come as a national hero or deliverer of the people of Israel alone. Jesus had come as the Messiah, the King who will free Israel and the world from their sins, Jesus was the One who will reconcile man to God, and He was the One who will reign and rule over man for eternity. Jesus was not just the deliverer of the nation of Israel alone as the people had expected. He came as the Deliverer of the world.

This morning, I want every one of us to remember that great sacrifice of Jesus on the cross at Calvary and the love that took Him there for the forgiveness of our sins and honor Him today by surrendering the will of our lives to Him and accepting Him as our Lord and Savior. He is the King that will reign forever and ever. “Hosanna in the highest heaven!” Hallelujah.

I wish you all a meaningful Holy Week.
