2 Chronicles 15:1-9

1 The Spirit of God came on Azariah son of Oded. He went out to meet Asa and said to him, “Listen to me, Asa and all Judah and Benjamin. The Lord is with you when you are with him. If you seek him, he will be found by you, but if you forsake him, he will forsake you. For a long time Israel was without the true God, without a priest to teach and without the law. But in their distress they turned to the Lord, the God of Israel, and sought him, and he was found by them. In those days it was not safe to travel about, for all the inhabitants of the lands were in great turmoil. One nation was being crushed by another and one city by another, because God was troubling them with every kind of distress. But as for you, be strong and do not give up, for your work will be rewarded.”

When Asa heard these words and the prophecy of Azariah son of Oded the prophet, he took courage. He removed the detestable idols from the whole land of Judah and Benjamin and from the towns he had captured in the hills of Ephraim. He repaired the altar of the Lord that was in front of the portico of the Lord’s temple.

Then he assembled all Judah and Benjamin and the people from Ephraim, Manasseh and Simeon who had settled among them, for large numbers had come over to him from Israel when they saw that the Lord his God was with him.

Make God First Today
Take-Home-Point: Seek the Lord and Find Him

Key Verse:
2 Chronicles 15:2 He went out to meet Asa and said to him, 'Listen to me, Asa and all Judah and Benjamin. The Lord is with you when you are with Him. If you seek Him, He will be found by you, but if you forsake Him, He will forsake you.'

From the beginning of creation, God had always desired the communion and fellowship of His children who will worship Him Faithfully irrespective of whatever circumstances they may be facing in life. He has never taken delight in a double minded person.

King Asa took over leadership of the tribe of Judah from 912-872 B.C. He reigned for 41 years and was a good king who served and sought the Lord with great all his heart. He brought a lot of changes to the tribe of Judah. He banished idol worship of foreign gods; he put away male prostitutes and even removed his own mother from being queen because she worshiped an idol. The Scriptures informed us that as long as he sought the Lord, the Lord prospered his reign. He had all round Peace, the Economy of Judah Boomed, insecurity became a thing of the past; the people of Judah had Rest for 35 years of his reign because God’s Hand was with him as he sought the Lord.

In our life journey, what place does God occupy in our lives?  Does He play a prominent role, second place, or maybe He takes the back seat?  Brethren, today, I want us to make God first in our lives by seeking Him.

As you begin the new working week, allow the word of our Savior in Matthew 6:33 “But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.”

May the full benefits of this promise be your portion in Jesus name.
Until I come your way next week, I wish you a Meaningful Week.
