Meaningful Life
Bible Reading: Psalm 50:23 “The one who offers thanksgiving as his sacrifice glorifies me…….” (ESV)
Take Home Point: Glorify God with Your Thanksgiving Today
Good morning, dear friends, last week we looked at the subject of gratitude and thankfulness to God our creator and giver of life. I encouraged us to carefully think through and write down all the good things that God has done for us and our families from the beginning of the year 2023 to date and on Thanksgiving Day 11/23/2023, bring out the list and spend quality time with your family in praising and thanking God for all He has done for us.
We will pick up from where we stopped last week. The psalmist in Psalm 50:23 wrote that it is the one who offers thanksgiving as his sacrifice to God (i.e. anyone who is thankful, who expresses gratitude to God), glorifies him, worships him. In other word, God enjoys, rejoices in our praise. At every point in time that we show gratitude to God or each time we testify to others about God’s providence and goodness, he rejoices in our praise.
This means that God expects our gratitude daily. He takes our thanksgiving as a sacrifice. In Psalm 22:3, king David wrote; “But thou art holy, O thou that inhabitest the praises of Israel.” (ESV). Is it not astonishing to know that God in his majesty and sovereignty inhabits and rejoices in our praises? God in his holiness still finds our praises irresistible, he glows when we worship and thank him. He is ready to move the mountains and storms when we praise him.
On Thanksgiving Day 11/23/2023, we and our families need to thank God for the following reasons:
The gift of life (Genesis 2:7, John 5:24)
Daily protection (Psalm 121:5-8, Philippians 4:19)
Daily provisions and supplies. (James 1:17, Philippians 4:6)
The forgiveness of our sins (1 John 1:19, Psalm 103:3)
For His enduring love and so forth. (John 3:16, Psalm 107:15, Romans 8:35-39)
So my beloved, please count your blessings, name them one by one and be thankful to our Heavenly Father for his love and kindness to us. Spend quality time with your family praising his majestic name. Give him all the glory and honor, God deserves our praise and hallelujah.
God bless you. I wish y’all a thankful celebration and may God’s rich blessings be on y’all.
As always, Jesus Is the Lord. Hallelujah.
Have a Meaningful and Thankful Week.
